Ensure your Backflow Prevention Assemblies are in approved enclosure/area, protected from freezing, according to manufacturer.
Ensure a heat source is installed per specifications and working properly. Failure to do so may result in damage to your Backflow Prevention Assembly causing interruption of service, and costly repairs.
While this annual task is being performed, verify that the Assembly has been recently tested & certified within the past year.
Need more information, please call our main office - 434-239-8654. Extension 108, Backflow Prevention Division
One of the most common contamination sources for your water system is the water hose that you use to fill your swimming pool or hot tub. Please do not submerge the water hose into the swimming pool or hot tub. This will prevent any potential backflow into the water system in the event of a water line break and a loss in system pressure. If your water system does not have an Air Gap or RPZ device, please make sure that your water hose is connected to an approved backsiphonage device. Please give our office a call and we will be glad to review your connection installation at no charge.
Remember - all of our customers are depending upon you to make the wise and safe choice to prevent any potential contamination to the public water system and to YOUR water system.
