Boil Water Notice Lifted:
The previous Boil Water Notice issued for the Sunburst Rd (1800 - 2100 block), Roger Dr, Luenburg Dr and Salem Rd areas has been lifted. 

The waterline break has been repaired, chlorinated and flushed. 

Water service has been restored and the results of the bacteriological samples have been received and are all clear. 

This Boil Water Notice has been Lifted.

Notice of Public Hearing

 

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority Board on June 5, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Fellowship Hall of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 21206 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502 to receive public input on these proposed changes to rates and fees which would increase Water and Sewer Usage Rates and Base Fees effective for bills rendered on or after July 1, 2023.  Sections 15.2-5114 and 15.2-5136, of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, provide the requisite legal authority to enact the proposed increases. The proposed amounts of the increases are shown as follows:

Water Usage Rates:

Usage charge per hundred cubic feet (hcf) of consumption from $4.65 to $4.95.

 

Sewer Usage and Sewer Only Rates:

Volume charge per hundred cubic feet (hcf) of consumption from $4.90 to $5.75.

Accounts deemed “sewer only” monthly rate from $61.00 to $71.50.

CCUSA earns VDH recognition in Operations, Performance for the 18th consecutive year

Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority (CCUSA) has earned the 2022 Virginia Optimization Program Gold Award for its high-quality drinking water treatment from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Office of Drinking Water, for operations and performance excellence for water utilities. CCUSA has received an award through this program each year since the program begin in 2005.

 The Gold Award was presented to Michael Templeton, Chief Operator and Jeff Wells, Executive Director on May 6th by Dixon Tucker, P.E., VDH District Engineer of VDH’s Field Office in Virginia Beach and Lisa Crabtree, P.E., District Engineer in VDH’s Field Office in Abingdon. CCUSA received the award for the Otter River Drinking Water Plant following an analysis of 12-months of data by the VDH Office of Drinking Water.

 Each year, through Virginia’s Optimization Program, the VDH recognizes drinking water plants that perform above and beyond minimum standards by optimizing and running their treatment process efficiently and effectively. The primary purpose of the program is to reduce risks to public health associated with drinking water.

 “We are greatly honored to receive the Gold level award and are extremely pleased to have earned an award for the past eighteen years,” says Jeff Wells, Executive Director of CCUSA. “This award is a direct result of the daily attentiveness by our water plant team, as well as CCUSA’s overall commitment to our community for providing top-quality drinking water that meets and exceeds the standards set forth by the VDH.”

The Silver Award was presented to Michael Templeton, Senior Operator and Jeff Wells, Administrator on May 5 by Dixon Tucker, P.E., VDH District Engineer of VDH’s Field Office in Virginia Beach and Dr. David Dawson, P.E., Deputy Field Director of VDH’s Field Office in Abingdon. CCUSA received the award for the Otter River Drinking Water Plant following an analysis of 12-months of data by the VDH Office of Drinking Water.

New Executive Director Jeffrey S. Wells, P.E.

The Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority is pleased to announce that Jeffrey S. Wells, P.E., has been appointed Executive Director for the Authority.  Mr. Wells is a native of Southside Virginia and is a licensed Professional Engineer.  He has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from UNC Charlotte.

Mr. Wells has over 28 years of utility and regulatory experience including nine years in the textile industry and nineteen years with the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water.  During his time with the Office of Drinking Water he worked collaboratively with several Central Virginia water utilities including Campbell County.

“I am very excited to work alongside the professionals at Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority and look forward to working with our Board to ensure the tradition of providing exceptional water and wastewater services continues well into the future” said Wells.
